The true heart of your kitchen...

Have you ever realised that the true heart of your kitchen is the sink unit? You use the sink in 60% of the things you do in your kitchen. Probably more than any other piece of equipment in the kitchen. Washing your hands, rinsing vegetables, washing the dishes, cleaning: your sink unit comes in for intensive use every day. That`s why it`s important that the unit is made from strong, durable and high-quality materials. You also have to be able to clean and maintain your sink unit with ease. And of course you want the unit to fit beautifully into your kitchen.

Reginox kitchen sinks are sinks to consider when making a purchase. Reginox’s thorough and professional production methods mean Reginox is strong on quality. Not a single Reginox product leaves the factory without being inspected. The ISO9001 certificate they have achieved bears witness to this.

Located in Rijssen, the Netherlands, Reginox organises and manages the production of more than 750,000 stainless steel sink units a year with Dutch practicality and thoroughness. Ranging from flush-mount to surface mount. A total of more than a hundred different types of kitchens and bathrooms.

One kitchen sink range to consider for versatility and durability is the Reginox Texas range of sinks, newly launched in 2010. These brand new innovative sink ranges have a designer overflow, square basket strainer waste and an all over 10mm radius. Sink-Taps have put these items on their website at a limited time only reduced price, and the items are currently available in stock.

The Texas sink unit boasts a deluxe, contemporary image; one which suits all kitchens. The functional finish to the vertical and horizontal 10 mm corners ensures this sink unit is very easy to clean. The new, subtle overflow together with the new square basket strainer embodies the entire Texas range to perfection. Both the design of the square basket strainer and the overflow as well as the small radial corners help create a beautiful unit; creating a perfect combination of style and practicality. The Texas range is available in the following dimensions: 18x40, 40x40 and 50x40. The key words to describe the Texas sink unit are: quality, user-friendly, a deluxe finish, exceptional attention to detail and reliability. With its exceptional class this very appealing sink unit accentuates Reginox's top of the range collection.

Alternatively, a Reginox ceramic sink may be what you want to consider. Reginox ceramic sinks offer a stylish contemporary or traditional alternative to other materials. We currently offer the ceramic sink and free tap package which is a constant sell out of all stock held at our head office so we make it a priority that we replenish all stock levels frequently.

With all Reginox sinks, the ranges are supplemented with various accessories such as wood and synthetic chopping boards, sink baskets and half bowls.

For more details on Reginox products visit the Reginox page on the sinks-taps.com website.

In the spotlight this week; Carron Phoenix kitchen sinks

Carron Phoenix is best known for its sink manufacturing but they can trace their roots back to 1759 when the Carron Company was founded as an iron foundry in Falkirk. Back then, The Carron Company became a manufacturing power-house, driving the industrial revolution in Scotland to a point where it employed 5,000 people, operated its own fleet of steam ships and even issued its own currency to enable global trading.

During The Carron Company's history it made domestic items like flat irons, cast iron baths, range cookers and most famously the Carronade cannons used by Wellington at Waterloo. The Carron Company could lay claim to a marketing first as it was the first organisation worldwide to have its name synonymous with a product, as Lord Nelson's flagship HMS Victory, was equipped with "Carronades". Later Carron turned its expertise to making Britain’s famous red telephone boxes and post boxes.

Today, Carron Phoenix focuses on producing sinks and taps along with waste disposal units and waste separation bins, which can be purchased from Sinks-Taps.com.

Perhaps you’re considering a granite sink? Granite kitchen sinks are known for their scratch, heat and stain resistant properties. You can be assured that knives and forks won’t score the surface, and the surface will not burn. You won’t see any colour fading with a granite sink and you can be reassured that the surface is extremely hardwearing, hygienic and resistant to most house hold cleaners. The material is versatile which allows a wide range of designs to be created, whatever the look and style of your kitchen.

Carron Phoenix granite sinks contain metallic particles which create a rich but subtle appearance in the finish. Take a look at some of the granite sinks on offer here.

A stainless steel sink may be an option you are considering. Stainless steel sinks are highly durable, extremely hygienic and are resistant to many chemicals.
Unfortunately, stainless steel sinks are not suitable with bleach and can scratch easily. Using wire wool pads to clean the stainless steel sinks can create tiny scratches which will shed small pieces of mild steel that later rust and give the appearance that your sink is rusting (this is not the case but it can be very difficult to remove the small steel particles that have adhered to the surface). Link
Stainless steel sinks can be easily cleaned with normal detergent and warm water. It’s also a good habit to dry your sink afterwards and buffing with a soft cloth. Long-term this will help develop a lovely rich patina and it will also ensure that no build up of limescale or other mineral deposits can occur. Have a look at some of the Carron Phoenix stainless steel sinks available to purchase today.

Carron Phoenix also produce a range of ceramic sinks. Ceramic sinks have a non–porous surface that is known for its resistance to heat and chemicals. Manufactured from fireclay in a traditional way, each ceramic sink is formed in a mould then finished by hand before the glaze is applied. The ceramic sink is then fired at high temperature in a kiln. Ceramic sinks are formed from natural materials so ceramic sinks may have small ‘inclusions’ in the surface. No two ceramic sinks are ever identical, which makes opting for a ceramic kitchen sink a very unique way of styling your kitchen.
Ceramic sinks can be chipped if sharp objects are dropped onto them but are easy to keep clean with normal detergent. Carron Phoenix ceramic sinks are available to buy online at http://www.sinks-taps.com/search.aspx?manufacturerid=1&categoryid=46&minprice=0&maxprice=0&code=

Carron Phoenix conform to a range of industry standards including ISO: 9001:2008 in Quality for manufacturing excellence, ISO 14001:2004 for commitment to the Environment and
BS OHSAS: 18001:2007 covering the Health & Safety of their workforce.

Delivery to the Republic of Ireland and Beyond

Successfully delivering to the Republic of Ireland on a monthly basis has resulted in national sink and tap retailer introducing new options for faster and cheaper delivery for those customers in the Republic of Ireland.

Sinks-Taps.com, the online retailer of kitchen sinks and kitchen taps launched its delivery to the Republic of Ireland in May last year, due to an overwhelming demand for quality products at affordable prices to the country. Delivering heavy and fragile goods by its own delivery team, the sink and tap retailer has decided to introduce an alternative courier service to deliver those goods, which are not fragile in transit, to the Republic of Ireland.

Victoria Dando, the organiser of the additional carrier options and Manager of the Sales and Customer Service teams at Sinks-Taps.com said

“We currently deliver once a month to the Republic of Ireland via our own in house delivery team, known for its exceptionally high standards of delivery, but we were finding that customers wanted other options for delivery which were faster and more affordable.

“To accommodate our customers, we have added a new carrier service which will offer more affordable surcharges for delivery and ensure their goods are delivered within a 5-7 working days, rather than the monthly service via our own delivery team. The addition of this new carrier option will allow customers to choose how they want their goods to be delivered to the Republic of Ireland.

"We can only deliver courier items to Northern Ireland and the charge for this service will remain at £15, as a non-mainland UK surcharge. Deliveries to countries beyond Northern and Southern Ireland can benefit from this service too, with our Euro48 delivery. This will provide customers with delivery to countries including Spain, Germany and France, but is limited to items which can be sent via a courier.

“The additional Republic of Ireland carrier surcharge ranges between £25 - £35 per parcel, dependant on the parcel size.

“Customers are advised to choose which delivery option suits their requirements and contact a sales representative to place an order and confirm the parcel size.

For further advice and enquiries, customers can call the sales team on 0845 6 80 80 28 Monday – Friday, 8.30am – 5.30pm, Saturday 9am – 5pm and Sunday 10am – 4pm.

Price matched, so you don't have to...

Sink and tap retailer leads the way in internet shopping by ensuring it’s prices are the best available on the web, with its own in house price checking solution.

National internet retailer, sinks-taps.com, has been retailing kitchen sinks and taps for over 10 years and has been party to many a pricing war with other internet retailers. Unhappy to let its customers scour the internet for the best available prices, the online store has focused on price checking its products against others, in house.

Richard Broadbent, the Managing Director of the successful site assures it’s the only way to offer the best in customer service. “Sinks-taps.com strives to offer the best in customer service. This doesn’t just stop with our courteous and trained sales and delivery staff; it’s extended to every aspect of our business.

“We understand that price is important to our customers. Our products can be easily price matched against other competitors, but we shouldn’t leave this to our customers to discover. We actively price match our products on a daily basis to ensure we are offering our products at the best possible prices.

“Any customers who do locate a product, which is cheaper at another online store, we will be happy to offer a price match.”

The price match guarantee is available to products on the sinks-taps.com website and doesn’t include kitchen appliances. Price matching is applicable to like for like products on internet sites only and is subject to the discretion of the Managing Director.

Consider Villeroy & Boch for your kitchen sink

Choosing the perfect sink for your kitchen has never been more time consuming, with the wide range of choices available of kitchen sinks, taps and accessories in a range of colours, styles, materials and finishes, where do you begin?

One of the best places to start is with a well known brand. Opting for an established manufacturer will ensure you at least get the guarantees and quality you would expect from your purchase. Brands such as Franke and Villeroy and Boch, are some of the more established names available, and all at affordable prices, so don’t think you have to spend a fortune to get the kitchen of your dreams. Villeroy and Boch, in particular, have been manufacturing high quality ceramic products since 1987 and are a worldwide, well-known name. If its ceramic sinks you’re considering, then Villeroy and Boch must be reviewed.

As with any well know brand, you may be concerned that your choice will be a mass made, poorly designed and limited in its offering. Villeroy and Boch sinks may be well known, but don’t let this dissuade you from the variety of colours, patterns and styles, making it possible to create a wealth of individual variations. You’ll also have the comfort of knowing that internationally renowned designers, such as van De Veld, Behrens and Olbrich have all been involved in the conceptual designs. The majority of the range are also owners of prestigious awards including the Red Dot Award for product design from the Design Zentrum Nordrhein-Westfalen, the “good design” award from “The Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design” or the “IF product design award” from International Forum Design.

Villeroy and Boch, affectionately abbreviated by its admirers to V&B, have been implementing a high degree of optimisation in the utility value of their product, such as the easy-care ceramic finish, named "CeramicPlus". This is no marketing ploy! This finish actually makes the cleaning of these ceramic sinks really easy. Deposits such as limescale and residue are easily removed; dirt and water simply run off. Villeroy and Boch kitchen sinks are also resistant to knocks, scratches and sharp objects and are extremely heat resistant.

These ceramic sinks from Villeroy and Boch come complete with a 5 year warranty and come in a variety of styles and fittings to suit any kitchen. We would recommend taking a look at the new ranges just introduced including the Subway XM, Subway XU, Subway XS and Timeline.

Just remember, if after deciding on a ceramic sink, you must consider the dimension variances which may occur due to the nature of the natural product, and you choose a reputable company to buy from and have your sink delivered. The last thing you want is your new ceramic kitchen sink to be damaged in transit.
